Who we are

We are TyraTech Inc., a life sciences company focused on nature-derived insect and parasite control products. We make products like PureScience®— a product range for use in poultry and swine with plant derived active ingredients —and Guardian® Mosquito & Tick Repellent—a plant-based alternative to DEET chemical repellents.

This privacy policy covers tyratech.com and any of its subdomains.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We intentionally collect as little data as possible and use that data: to make informed decisions about improvements to our site, to maintain the health and security of the site, and to facilitate personal interactions with our audience.

Our data collection efforts are both active—information that you choose to supply to us—and passive—information that your browser supplies to us automatically.

Active data collection efforts include email marketing sign ups and contact forms, though we currently do not employ the latter. When you sign up, the personal data you provide us is your name and email address. This data constitutes personally identifiable data.

Passive data collection efforts include server logs and website analytics. The data collected is: Technical information related to your browser version and operating system, usage information about what pages you visit, and some potentially personally identifiable data like your IP address.

We use two services to analyze traffic to our websites: Google Analytics from Google LLC and JetPack Site Stats from Automattic Inc. These services track usage throughout to the site to help us make informed business decisions regarding content and site improvement.

Both services are US based and GDPR compliant.

Google Analytics sets cookies (see Cookies for more information) to track behavior throughout a single session and for repeat visits. We anonymize your IP address before sending it to Google. Further, all user level and event data is removed from Google Analytics within 26 months.

JetPack collects IP addresses. However, we do not see your IP address in the reports they provide us. Further, IP addresses are strictly used for the purposes of providing us this service and are purged from their logs 28 days after collection.

Why we collect your personal data and how we use it

We process the personal data you provide to us to provide you with the newsletters, promotional and other information you have consented to when you passed us the information.

We process the technical data such as IP addresses in order to administer and protect our website and to use data analytics to improve our website, products, services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.  Data is processed in this way for our legitimate interests to develop our business and keep our website and marketing strategy updated and relevant.

We will restrict our processing of personal data to circumstances where either you have consented to the processing, or we need to perform a contract with you, or it is necessary for our legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and your interests and rights do not override those interests where we need to comply with a legislation or legal obligation.

MailChimp

We use MailChimp for the purpose of email marketing. The personal data shared is currently limited to name and email address. MailChimp is a fully GDPR compliant, US based service.

We store your data on our servers based in the US, and we endeavour to ensure that your data is processed in accordance with the privacy requirements of GDPR.

How long we retain your data

We retain information for various lengths of time depending on the type of information.

  • Server logs (which contain IP addresses) are deleted within two months.
  • User and event info recorded by Google Analytics is removed after 14 months.
  • IP address recorded by JetPack Site Stats are deleted 28 days.
  • Personal data provided to us for the purposes of email marketing are stored indefinitely for as long as you give us consent to do so.

What rights you have over your data

If you have signed up to receive email marketing on this website, you can request to receive an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you.  You can also require correction of inaccurate personal data, object to the processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent to processing, where this is our lawful basis for processing your personal data. You also have a right to make a complaint at any time to the regulatory authority responsible for data processing in your jurisdiction.  For more information about making complaints, and any of the rights summarised in this paragraph, we recommend that you visit the website of your regulatory authority. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

By visiting our site, you are communicating your IP address to our server in the US. Additionally, your IP address will be collected by Automattic Inc. for their JetPack Site Stats feature.

By accepting various cookies, you are agreeing to have your site usage information and browsing and/or viewing habits transmitted to Google LLC, a GDPR compliant, US based company, via encrypted traffic.

By signing up for our newsletter, you are agreeing to have the personal data you provide to us transferred to MailChimp, a GDPR compliant, US based company, via encrypted traffic.

How we protect your data

We take reasonable measures to protect data from unauthorized access, use, destruction, or alteration. These measures include encrypting website traffic and the employing multiple layers of firewalls. Additionally, all data collected by third party providers is encrypted during transmission.

However, no website is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach involving your personal data, we will attempt to notify you by email.
